Makes me smile...

As most of you already know life with a toddler is always an adventure. They are learning so much so quickly and it is really fun to get to be a part of their life experiences. Lately I find myself thanking God so much for allowing us to raise Jakob and to see life through his eyes. I think having this little person in our lives is so much fun. Here's some happenings lately that make me smile:

The three of us sitting in church together, Jakob just looking around taking it all in and sometimes singing his own little song as we sing to the Lord

My baby boy wearing big kid undies to nursery and having no accidents

On Sundays Mickey D's has 99cent chicken nuggets so we stop to get Jakey some fairly often. This Sunday he ate all his nuggets on the ride home and then pointed at the McDonalds bag and said "fre-fwies." I guess 99cent chicken nuggets just don't cut it anymore, those Sunday night stops are about to get a little more expensive :)

Hearing Jakob crying at naptime and going to check on him to find he tried to put on a new t-shirt and his arms are through the arm holes, but the top of the shirt is all wrapped around his head. He's freaking out that he cannot get himself out of this predicament. It's hilarious to see. I'm proud he's trying to do things on his own, but also a little sad and sentimental because he's just getting more and more independent

Finding a pair of wet undies in the trash can (this just happened yesterday) where somebody had the first pee-pee accident in a long time and obviously didn't want mommy to find out

When we ask Jakob if he's ready for bed and he runs to his room, grabs his pooh bear and his pillow and heads to our bedroom because he just wants to sleep with mommy and daddy

When my little fellow takes the time to stop and smell the (fake) flowers and then lets out a long "MMMMM" like they actually do smell good

When I see Jakob's loving heart in action. He is such a sweet boy.The other day all the moms were coming to pick up their kids from nursery and Jakob ran up to each one as they walked in the door and grabbed them by the legs and hugged them. I see him with older babies (8 months or so) now and though he doesn't want them touching his toy he's very gentle with them. He always has a smile for any child he sees and is ready to run and play with them. All of these things make me smile on the outside as well as in my heart

This post makes me so happy! I love hearing how Jakey is growing up - it's absolutely precious.

And congrats on the potty training! That rocks!!

to hear the love and proudness in your words warms my heart too. I love hearing how he is growing up and discovering things and then again it saddens me to know with this comes no longer a baby boy. No matter how big he gets he will always be gamma boy. Gamma loves Jakey ♥♥♥♥♥♥
