31 weeks...

Here's a 31 week belly shot... Do you think my belly looks smaller than the 30 week? it must just be the dress...

Jakob's room

Here are a few pictures of Jakob's room. I finally ordered "my verse" and even though it was a little...how shall we say it(?) aggravating to put up I am soooo happy with it. I am very glad to have the reminder that God has given me the greatest miracle that he could ever have given me. I still need to get a few things for the top of the dresser and some baskets for the changing table, but for the most part we are done!!! I have been washing and folding baby clothes today, and I'll have to put up a pic of my favorite little sleeper. It is fuzzy and brown and the hood has little bear ears on it, I cannot wait for Jakob to wear it. (it's 6-12 months, so I have to wait, but it is adorable!!!) He'll look like a little lost boy from Peter Pan. My mom was here today, and between her and Jeremy they got all this put together. (thanks so much mom!!!) One more step closer to bringing our baby boy home.

I passed the second glucose test. (!!!!) The nurse said my numbers were perfect, so I am relieved, and very happy about that. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! Love, -me

3 hour glucose test...

I went for my 2nd glucose test this morning. The stuff I drank was the same as the last, just had more sugar in it for the 3 hour test. Jakob moved so much after this stuff, so I know it had to be alot sweeter than last time. Thankfully Kara came up to the office and sat with me my last hour (thanks Kara!!!) it was extremely boring, and for the first hour and a half I felt like I was gonna throw up, but thank God it's over! I'll let y'all know what the doc says tomorrow. Love, -Me P.S.- Please pray for Jillians son Jarred. He fell off the top bunk at camp while he was sleeping and broke his nose! (and also chipped a tooth) Jarred sees the doctor tomorrow.

Rocky Bayou pics....

Here's some pictures from Rocky Bayou yesterday. Yes, I did put up a picture of myself in a bathing suit...(!!!) I don't really love this bathing suit, but I'm too lazy to go looking for another one. Abigail is so much fun to take swimming. She swims around like a little fish the whole time. Rocky Bayou is a bay that opens into the Gulf of Mexico, so there's sometimes dolphins in the water, there's aligators out there, though we've never seen any. I have seen a snake though. It's in the woods and very pretty. Abigail collects the hermit crabs and calls them her "pets". When we go to leave she gets really sad and releases all of them together in one spot. It's really cute. The picture is of Abi with her bucket of hermit crabs, and her giant "pet" that she had to (sadly) release.

Cribs, Pregnancy, and lots and lots of hormones...

Well, Jakob's crib and changing table are all set up. I am at this moment washing the sheets to put on the crib. (Once they are done I will give you all a little preview of the nursery) We attempted to put a baby dresser together, but it was not well made, and ended up taking it back and ordering a different one. The new dresser should arrive on Saturday. Everything's kinda on hold till I get the dresser. (I need to start washing baby clothes, and arrange the room, but it kinda can't happen till the dresser comes in) People have been very generous in giving me clothes for Jakob. I have the whole bottom of his closet filled with clothes size newborn to 2 years. (and I haven't had a shower yet!!!) Once I get the time I'm gonna put all the 6month and up clothing in a big container and store it away. -Pregnancy is going pretty well.- I have all the usual aches and pains. I have a really stuffy nose which is what bothers me most, I think. (I'm not really looking for sympathy, unless you totally just want to give it) :( j/k! I have this little bottle of "melaluca" oil on my nightstand, I think it's basically tea tree oil, just branded for "melaluca" but when I wake up at night and can't breathe I rub that all over the bottom of my nose and it opens up my sinuses so I can sleep. Bet you're all glad I shared that huh? Work is getting more...what's the word I'm looking for? I'm just basically getting fed up with work. It's not even that I can't wait to quit, for the most part I'll miss the whole atmosphere, it's just that the new kids are alot to handle, and on top of that I feel like I'm not getting the support I should be from my boss, and it's all a little much at this point. I think everyone just blames my attitude on hormones, but it's kinda ridiculous some of the goings on lately. Maybe pregnancy has just made me speak my mind more, or maybe it's because I leave soon anyways, so I'm more open about what I think. People keep telling me "you should just quit" and that'd stop alot of my tiredness, and stress, but my situation is that I'm paying for a baby here. I wanted this child so bad, and I don't want to quit working and leave Jeremy with a huge bill that he has to stress about, while I sit around and enjoy my son. The situation is different, and strange I know, but it's my reality (our insurance paid for a full 6 IUI's-artificial insemination- but no IVF coverage.) I really don't think I'll look back on my pregnancy years from now and be bitter (as some people tell me I might) that I didn't sit at home and "take it easy", I knew what having this baby would entail, and I'm totally game for it, it's just stressful right now. My quit date is July 30th, and I can't tell you at this point that I'm not counting down the days. I've actually got a reminder on my phone for how many more work days I have left. :) I just feel like even with a month before my due date to work around the house I won't be able to get things done. We'll see. The funny part is as long as Jakob is fed, and changed he won't care. I just want things to be nice and calm for him. My weekend starts tomorrow, and with this 104 degree weather we're having there's nowhere I want to be besides the water. Tomorrow I think we're going to the bayou to swim. I'm a little nervous about the beach because it's soooo hot, and I don't know if the waves will be too strong and then I'll be burning up on the sand. One day I'll make it out there. Last year every time Jillian and I went to the beach it rained on us. This year I don't think we'll be upset about the rain. So I've basically written a short story here today, but I don't blog as much as I used to so I guess it's all just built up and spilled over today. Hope y'all all have a great weekend, and I'll put up a picture of Jake's crib once it's all done. Love ya, -Me

Belly pics 29 weeks...

O.k. so now you can see all 20 of my pounds gained...My baby boy is getting big!!! (so is his mama) :)

Results....

Well I called the doctors office this morning, and the nurse said my numbers were "a little high"... So that means on the 24th of June I have to go to another place and do a three hour test. I still have to drink that sugary stuff and then they'll take my blood every hour for 3 hours.... that is gonna suck. I'm gonna have to find a good book. Oh well. I'll be o.k. with it as long as I don't have gestational diabetes. I really don't want to have to go on a special diet... you never miss eating certain things until you can't eat them. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell y'all yesterday that I was measuring 29 weeks, which is exactly what I am, and I've gained another 4 pounds. I'm just gonna say it and blame it on the baby, I now weigh 146 pounds!!! 20 pound weight gain so far. I don't have a picture right now Jen, but I'll try to take one tonight. (we went swimming this morning so I am a mess right now, and need a nap too) Hope y'all have a good weekend. We're working on the baby's room, so when it's done I'll put up pics of that too. Love, -Me

Glucose test...

I had my glucose test this morning. Everyone at work and church had been telling me how awful it was, so I was pretty nervous. The stuff they make you drink is not as bad as everyone told me it would be. You do have to drink it in 3 minutes though, so it kinda just swishes around in your stomach for a long time. I have to call tomorrow morning and they'll tell me if I passed it or not. The nurse said 50% of people's results come back too high, but when they have the three hour test done everything is fine. I guess we'll see. I hope that I pass the first time so I don't have to go sit around for 3 hours next time. I'll let y'all know tomorrow. -Me

Halelujah for the weekend...

Well, tomorrow starts my weekend, and I am so glad that it's here. This week has been quite interesting, and quite unpredictable. I got my new class on Monday, and only 3 of the kids were there. (I have yet to have all 5 at once) My two little screamers have not been absent one day this week, that's how it always works. Jude was the little one that I was actually dreading having move into my class. The one time I had him all day I felt like shooting myself, because all he does is scream all day long. Kendall, is very very smart, but very very immature. I think there are probably some deeper issues there. Kendall can be worked with and actually trained to the point to where you can have a good time with her, you just have to be more stubborn than her. Jude acts like...well I can't think of any other way to say it other than the lights are on and nobody's home. You call his name and he doesn't even flinch as if he never heard you. At first we thought it was his ears, but he got tubes, and he still doesn't listen half the time. Anyways, back to Monday... Jude actually surprised me and did pretty well. He's spacey, and needs to learn how to focus, but he only screamed a few times. I tried to drill into him "we use our big kid words, we don't scream" Kendall on the other hand screamed no matter what I told her. Go to the bathroom, let me wipe your nose, everything that I said was cause for screaming. Yesterday was good, I actually thought wow, this is getting easier, and then today they all just decided not to listen. They can be so cute and so sweet though. Kendall was sitting in the "blueroom" which is a wide open room that they can run and play in, and there was a video with sunday school songs playing. She was sitting on a toy car and singing- "sing posamma, sing posamma sing posamma to the ping of ping. It was so cute, she had no idea what she was saying, but she sang with all her heart. Later on in the day I was playing catch with them and anytime Kendall missed her ball she would scream at the top of her lungs. "I'm not playing catch with you till you're done screaming" I said, and Kendall stopped and said "Ms. Shauna, I am done screaming now" it was too funny. All in all I think these next two months will be challenging, but I think that hopefully we will see a big change in these kids, and they'll be ready to integrate with my last class. It's hard to believe, but they'll be starting school at the same time as my class that just moved up. I will post some pictures later. When you see them they'll look like little angels, don't be deceived... :) j/k I'm also glad it's the weekend because we are making a short trip up to Georgia to Aunt Betty and Uncle Jim's house. Most of my friends know Aunt Betty and Uncle Jim from our frequent trips up there away from the hurricanes. Uncle Jim is turning 75 so we're going up for the birthday party. It's gonna be a short trip because Jeremy has to work on Sunday. I love going to their house because it brings back so many memories of the simple times. Growing up we spent every Easter and every Thanksgiving there. They are closer than grandparents to me. I will post some pictures when we get back. It's about a 4 1/2 hour trip to Perry, and we plan on leaving about 6:00 tomorrow morning. I am so excited. On Sunday we'll have a little family gathering, minus Jeremy for Amber and Dallas. They're leaving on Monday and moving to North Carolina. Dallas is now officially out of the military. This is the first of my sisters to leave, I never left the area. I am really sad, and going to miss her, but trying not to think about it right now... It's gonna be weird. Well, I've written way too much. I hope you all have a great weekend, and get some rest!!!! Love, -Me
