Isn't it funny how little boys grow up to be big boys??? Jeremy loves to sit down and watch x-men or spide-rman, all those other cartoons he watched when he was young. I'm glad my two boys can share these memories together (and share Jakob's toys :)
A month or so ago Jeremy came to me and told me that behind his ear was hurting. He wanted me to look and see if he got a spider bite or something. There are soooo many spiders down here. -I guess whenever Jeremy puts his airboat away at the end of a day he leaves his ear plugs (they look like old school headphones) in the boat. Some guy he works with actually got bit on the ear by a spider and they had to cut part of his ear off! I told him that I'd leave the ear plugs in the truck if I were him.- I looked at the spot and it looked like a mole. I told him I was scared it was skin cancer so we called that day and made him an appointment with a dermatologist. He needs to be getting his skin checked out at least once or twice a year anyways since he works in the sun all the time. The dermatologist said yes, it was pre-cancerous cells but we caught it early. He froze the spot off and Jeremy goes back in June for a follow up where the doctor will see if the freezing took care of it. Thankfully since we've been down here Jeremy has been very good about applying sunscreen. The sun damage on his ear is actually probably from when we were back home and he was younger and wouldn't wear sunscreen no matter how much I nagged him. Moral of the story...wear sunscreen girls! Getting burnt really isn't good for you.
I haven't written much about what's going on with our job prospects mostly because I try not to think about it too much. I really hesitate to even tell our families about it sometimes because all we can do is apply and wait and I don't want people asking about it all the time. I'm going to tell you about a couple though, mostly because I really want one of them and I wouldn't mind the prayers. The day Jeremy found out he wasn't getting the job back home he got an e-mail saying a job in Arkansas wanted to interview him. We figured, why not? We don't know what God's will is for us, but we really feel that South Florida is just a pit stop in our lives. We have prayed and asked God to help us like it here if it's will that we stay and things are not horrible here, but it just doesn't feel like home. We don't know when we will leave, but we do feel that this is not where we will be long term. So anyways, Jeremy interviewed for the Arkansas job about a week maybe a week and a half ago. Not long after the Ar interview we found out someone at Jeremy's old job (back home) is retiring. That means there will be an opening for a permanent position. I really want him to get that job. Realistically (sp?) he probably wouldn't get it. It's a promotion and those higher up jobs are very competitive. Anyone who has served in the military gets preference over those who haven't. We know that it would pretty much take a miracle, but I'd be soooo happy if he were to get it. The guy who's renting our house is still looking to move, but he's staying until he finds a place. It's good for us that he's not moving out b/c we don't have to wait for a new renter. We often say that we wish God gave us a book with exactly our path mapped out for us, but I guess we'd miss part of the adventure. I'm definitely learning to trust...
