Jakes shots...

Jakob got some of his immunizations today. I was getting all emotional this morning, cause he was being so sweet and he was so happy, and I had no idea how he'd react to the vaccines. When we went to the office I told the nurse that I wanted to hold him while he got his shots. First they gave him a liquid vaccine and he does not like anything in his mouth except breast milk. When I give him gas drops or his little gas pills he hollers and screams, so I knew that he wouldn't like the liquid, but he'd just be mad, it wouldn't hurt him. He did scream for the liquid meds, then I cradled him and she gave him two shots in his right leg. He tensed up and started screaming, I just tried to comfort him and then she gave him the other shot in his left leg. He did cry, but once the nurse was done I just held Jake close to me and comforted him and he stopped crying. I think the Tylenol I gave him before we went to the doctor made him a little drowsy at first. By the time we left the office Jakob was sleeping. He seems to be doing well right now, I'm just gonna keep giving him his Tylenol every 4 hours today.
In other news Jake now weighs 15lbs. 11oz! He is 24 1/2 inches long. He's still 90th percentile in height and 95th percentile in weight. He is a big boy. There's a picture of Jeremy's mom holding him in only his diaper at the doctors office and he looks so big! I'll try to get it and put it up here. The doctor said he is capable of sleeping 8-10 hours now (I'm guessing because of his weight). He really only wakes up at 1:30 (goes down about 7:30 or 8:00) and then he always wakes up at 4:30. She told me to just let him fuss a while at 1:30 in the morning and see if he calms down and goes back to sleep. I won't start that this weekend, because of his shots, and Jeremy's working this weekend. Next weekend I'm gonna try it and see if he'll sleep longer. We'll see....

that would be awesome if he could sleep from 8-4:30...if you are going to let him fuss himslf to sleep at 1:30 be prepared to be heartbroken:(
I know, I don't like letting him fuss, and to me 7:30-4:30 was good. We'll see what happens. If I could keep him awake later, then he would sleep later into the morning. I'm gonna try that.
That little chunk is so cute!!
how's the 'letting it fuss' going? our little one decided to wake up again - blah - at 4 am a couple nights now. grr.
