A quick update...
I went to the doctor today... I know it was supposed to be tomorrow, but they called and changed it at the last minute. (still trying to remember Jess's lesson on patience...) Linda said everything looked good. I get to stop the birth control pills tonight (yay!) and I will start the estrogen in a couple of days. Just taking the shots right now. My next appt. is on Dec. 9th. I'll write more later. -me

My first Thanksgiving this year...
Yesterday @ work we had the Thanksgiving dinner for the kids and their families. It is always a stressful time, the kids get thrown way off schedule and we have to make sure everything is ready to feed all the kids plus a parent or two (plus some grandparents also). Once the day is started though, and everyone's eating and talking it's so much fun. I guess when you run a daycare you really want to be a family atmosphere, and this dinner really makes you feel like the holidays have arrived! I'm very blessed to have alot of great kids and great parents in my class this year. I enjoyed talking with them and enjoying "my kids" with them. I went home last night and was completely exhausted. I went to bed at 7:30. I don't know why but I think the Lupron just drains me. I have learned not to fight the tiredness. Obviously my body needs to recharge, so I will let it. I'm excited to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends (we'll eat at mom's house) and get a few days off of work (after yesterday I can't wait to eat all that food again) Hope you all have a great weekend.!

Let's try this again...
So I started my Lupron shots last night. I don't know why but the needles that come in a kit with the medication are not very sharp. I had to just jab the needle in again last night, thankfully it didn't bruise like last time. To remind you, because I know there's so much medication, the Lupron supresses my cycle and does not let me ovulate. I don't know why but I have been forgetting to take my birth control pill every day for the last three weeks. I think it is my mind and body being rebellious and saying that it needs a break. At least I think I get to stop the birth control pills next week (thank goodness!!!). That's about all the news for now, I go to the doctor the day before thanksgiving for bloodwork and an ultra-sound. I'll keep you updated. -Shauna

all right, I've been tagged...so here goes
***6 things about me***
1. I absolutely love the area in which I live. Who could not love Destin, FL??? Sometimes I think about moving, but not being 30 minutes from the beach makes me feel....like a fish without water? :) I know there's not much more to do than go to the beach, but I love it!
2. I like to sing as loud as possible in the car. Yes, I am one of those crazy people who has their mouth wide open screaming out the words to every song I hear. Sometimes I just laugh at myself and imagine someone sitting in the backseat horrified at my attempt at harmony!!!
3. I used to get grossed out at stuff really easily. It wouldn't take much to make me feel nauseous, but working at a daycare has totally solved that little problem... I'm sure you can use your imagination on that one...
4. I don't really like to try new things. (to those who know me well this is not so shocking). If the food I normally order is good why would I want to take a chance at ordering something I might not like??? Usually though, once someone drags me along and makes me do or try something new I enjoy myself and am glad to get out of my little box.
5. I've worked at my current job for a year, and in that year I have totally flip-flopped from a night person to an early morning person. Every now and then on a Saturday I may stay in bed till maybe 8 or 9 in the morning. Normally I'm laying there thinking about all of my life I'm wasting in bed, then I just have to get up. (they say the average person sleeps 23 years of their life...can you imagine?)
6. I have only been to seven states in our country in my lifetime and they are as follows: Florida...(duh), Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. I am a true southern girl. One day we'll make it to Colorado/Arizona where Jeremy spent alot of his life...But the south will always be home.

No title for this one...
Well, y'all I asked you to pray for Jill, with her great-grandma being so sick. Her great-grandma did pass away. Just keep praying for her that she'll have the grace to deal with this. Jill's boss sent her home for the day, so she came over to my mom's to visit. It is November 14th and about 80 degrees outside, so Jillian, on top of being emotional was very hot and I just happened to have my scissors in the car... I guess you'll figure out the rest. Here's a pic of the new haircut. Look down on my pictures on the left of the page and you may find some of her with her longer hair. I've been waiting to chop it off and I'm very happy with the results. A cute haircut can always lift your spirits.
My attempt at art...
Ok, so I sat down last night and attempted to finish these little t-shirts for my kids. Jill let me use a stencil she had, and also gave me the puff paint. (Thanks girl!) It was a little more messy than I thought it was going to be. They turned out pretty cute though. I still have to iron them to set the paint. Once I get back to work on Monday I'm gonna glue those little wiggly eyes on the turkeys and my masterpiece will be complete... :) The Parents are coming on Thursday for a thanksgiving dinner, and the kids will wear them then, I'm sure their parents will love them. I'm off work today, (thank God) still recovering from having 13 little 2 and 3 year olds yesterday. (everybody's getting sick right now! hopefully they'll keep it to themselves!!!) Anyways, I hope you all have a great Friday and a good weekend. <3<3<3
P.S. Please pray for Jillian as her great-grandmother is very close to passing. Her great-grandma is saved, so she will be in a much better place, but it's always hard to lose someone you love.

Happy Veteran's Day!!!
Today is a day when we remember veteran's who've served our country in the past and are currently serving our country. Being in a military town we see the hard parts of service, and the toll it takes on people's families. I am so thankful for our freedoms in America and it's all because people are honorable and go where they are sent, whether it's a good time or not, whether it's a safe place or not. Thank-you to all who've served in the U.S. Armed Forces and the people who love and support them. Being that today is a federal holiday, and most of our friends get it off Jeremy and I had a bonfire at our house last night. We had a few friends over and made smores and sat around the fire and had a great time. Anyone who knows my husband knows that he is a pyromaniac and is always looking for a reason to start a fire. (thankfully sometimes his responsibilities at JG are as a wildland firefighter so he does have training to keep the fires he starts under control). When I get some pictures from friends who brought cameras I will post them. Today I am going to work on some little t-shirts that I am making for my class at the daycare that are for thanksgiving. They have a little turkey made from their handprint and are turning out really cute. (I'll post a pic later). On another note I really would appreciate your prayers right now. I'm just really having a hard time dealing with my emotions at the moment. I know alot of it is hormonal, and my hormones are totally out of whack. I'm in that place where I just don't want to hear about anybody who's pregnant or just had a baby. (which as you know is hard considering we've got that all going on at church right now). I just want to either get really angry or cry my eyes out. It makes me feel awful that I can't control these feelings, but I'm learning that I just have to pray and wait for them to pass. If people will just be patient with me and not get offended or judge me over it, it will get better, and I'll be fine again. Like I said, you're all my closest friends and I know you'll pray for me, things will change. I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!
Love,
-me

The New Schedule
Ok y'all, I just got my new medication schedule from Linda. I start my Lupron shots on Nov. 18th, along with the baby aspirin and the birth control pills. I go to have an ultra sound and lab work on Nov. 26th -the day before Thanksgiving.- On the 29th of November I also start an estrogen pill and an estrogen patch (while continuing the Lupron and the aspirin). Another ulstrasound and blood work on the 10th of December. The transfer will take place on Sunday December 14th. Here's the part that makes me so nervous, I'm actually kinda shaking right now. My pregnancy test will be the 24th of December!!!! I could either get really good news the day before christmas or really devastating news. Just pray for me that God will give me the grace to accept whatever he sends my way. I asked Linda about my reaction to the Estrogen, I've been kinda nervous about it since the retrieval went so badly. She said that I will be on much lower doses of Estrogen and that the large number of growing follicles are what made my Estrogen go so high. (She told me today she's never seen anyone's Estrogen so high before). So that's the plan for now. I'm just taking it one day at a time and trying to enjoy the time of no shots or hormones. I will keep you all updated on the progress. I still need your prayers!!! Love you all. -Me

Hey you....Go vote!
Jess, you stole my idea... I just want to remind everyone that if you haven't voted yet you need to go tomorrow and do it. It is way past time that christians started becoming involved and informing themselves on the issues. You need to find out what a candidate stands for and vote for the candidate that's closest to what the Bible commands us to be. Our struggle to have a baby has been so hard, and it angers me that people like Barak Obama want to make it legal for a woman to deliver a baby and then kill it because she had no intention of having it. The Bible says that if a man does not work he shouldn't eat, so should we be voting in people who want to give money to this person or that person? As christians we should be giving and help others, it's not the governments job to take our money and "redistribute" it to other people. No matter who wins this election we are told that God sets up and puts down kings. God's will will be performed no matter what. We can trust him. That's my little rant :) Make sure you go vote! The true christians MUST stand up for what's right, it's the only hope America has.

Learning to be thankful
I went to the doctor on Friday, but I have been a little busy this weekend, and really just haven't had the urge to blog. There's not much to tell about the appointment. My ovaries are getting back to normal size, and my weight is back down, so I think the OHSS is gone. Tomorrow Linda is supposed to call me and let me know what meds I need to start taking and when. Right now I have started having really bad cramps, and the doctor says to expect some spotting because I am on the birth control pills. I keep trying to remind myself that in about a month and a half this will be over. Whether we end up pregnant or not I will be done with this cramping and painful ovaries. I was driving home tonight, thinking that I hope we get a couple of children from these embryos that we have cryopreserved. If we don't though, I'm done. This has been a very difficult experience and so hard on me emotionally and physically that I'm just exhausted and ready for this to be over. Lord willing we will get news of a little blessing around Christmas time. On another note, we had a "family fun night" on friday night at the church, and it was so much fun! I was debating on whether or not to do any physical games, considering I'm still kinda recouping from the horrors of OHSS. My girlfriends (Jill, Jaylene, Natali, Callie, and Rachel) and my sisters (Amber and Kara) and I all played volleyball and had a great time. I really love my friends, and they have all been so compassionate to me and really helped me through some very tough times. Of course at any good Baptist fellowship you have to have tons of food. The food was great, the fellowship was great and it was nice to hang out. Hope you all have a great week, and let's try even with our trials in mind to remember God and all his goodness to us. -Just waking up in the morning is a miracle, I've also learned good health is definitely something to be thankful for!!!- Oh yeah.... GO GATORS!!!!
