Wow! What a day...Jakob woke up feeling very warm this morning. I took his temperature and it read 101.1 degrees. I immediately gave him some tylenol and within a half hour he didn't feel warm anymore. I've had to keep the tylenol in him every 4 hours or he starts to heat up again. He hasn't been bad, just very clingy and sleepy and a little unhappy. I'm thinking it's probably his teeth (his daddy noticed a lot of drool in the last couple days and he chews on his finger constantly) at dinner his favorite thing was mashed potatoes, I'm guessing cause they're soft and you don't really have to chew them. Needless to say the weaning went out the window today. He felt so bad, and looked so pitiful, that I nursed him at lunch time (which is the meal we've been skipping). If he wakes up feeling better tomorrow we'll try to get back on schedule. Poor little fella :(

Poor baby Jakey :( Gamma sorry you feel bad. I will call in the morning to check on him. but if he's eating well and Tylenol takes care of the fever then it maybe just teething.

Sorry about sick Jakey! It's so sad when they aren't feeling well, especially with fingers in their mouths!

When are you trying to wean by? Are you just cutting one feeding out here and there?

Jakob is doing better now. He got a rash two days after the fever and the rash lasted two days and then he was perfectly fine. Just a virus I guess.I don't really have a date I want to be done by. I just know he's almost a year old now and barely will be still long enough to nurse, and he pulls at my shirt when he wants to eat, so he's getting old enough to stop breastfeeding. He also eats regular food on top of nursing, so I think the nursing is more a comfort/closeness thing with him. Right now I've cut out the lunchtime nursing and he is doing good. The hard ones though are morning and night. He always wants to nurse first thing in the morning and when he's tired he wants to nurse. I don't know when I'm gonna try to drop another one. I'm just kinda playing it by ear.
