What???

I have to say I am so sick and tired of hearing about this woman who just had octuplets. I know that it is in the news, and I don't have to listen/look at it if I don't want to, but it is everywhere. There is an article on Yahoo news that says the woman has no husband, and has just always "wanted children" (the babies are from a sperm donor). She lives with her parents and now has 14 children from the ages of 7 to newborn. What kind of doctor would even contemplate allowing a woman to conceive that many children??? This is not a case of clomid (which is harder to control how many babies are conceived) this woman had IVF! I think that someone should seriously consider whether her RE should be practicing medicine at all. My RE would not even consider transferring more than 2 embryos with me because of my age, and the fact that the risks of complications grow much stronger with multiples. I just get really aggrivated when people "take advantage" of good things. There are women out there, like myself, and all the women I've met through blogging who cannot conceive a child any other way. There are women out there who've tried IVF and still cannot conceive. Then there's stupid, irresponsible people who abuse IVF and it's all over the news. I know that the news of this womans octuplets will be devastating to many women out there who have tried for years and years to get pregnant, and still have not. All I can say is I'm sorry. I know it's not the babies fault, and I think they need our pity. (it sounds like their mother may have some issues) Well, I feel much better now that I've ranted on that. I was just going to ignore it, but they keep touting it as such a great thing, and it's really irritating. Hope you all have a good weekend, and remember to pray for those who have yet to conceive.
