My doctor's visit went very well yesterday. Dr. W says that my thyroid is over-active, but it's not at a really bad number. He recommended that I take a low dose thyroid med that will help slow it down. Alot of times if you can get the thyroid to slow down it will continue that way and you can wean off the medicine completely. Of course I am hoping that's the way it turns out. I don't like taking medication if I don't have to. He doesn't think I have PCOS. He said that my build does not fit the "PCOS" type, he thinks I may have a blockage in my adrenal gland which is causing more testosterone to be produced than actually should be. We will look into that when the thyroid is taken care of. As of right now I take the meds and will see the doctor in a month or so for a check up and blood work. A funny story (or two...)
I really wanted Jeremy to come to the doctor with me, but we don't have anybody who I'd be comfortable leaving Jakey with yet so we took him with us. He was a good boy for a long time (we waited to see the doctor for about 45 minutes after my appt. time) He played with his Toy Story toys and looked at magazines and even watched some Sesame Street on Dad's phone. When the doctor got there Jakob had had enough and was ready to go. The whole time the doctor is talking to me Jakob is running around in a circle. Sometimes he would run into the doctors knee and fall backwards onto the floor, then get right back up and run again. I had just told the doctor that some days I am so extrememly tired and he looked at Jakob and said "I have no idea why you would be tired" It was really funny. They said he was really hyper in the nursery last night too. I think he might have been over tired.
This morning when Jakey woke up I took him to the bathroom and put him on the potty chair. I really didn't think he would go because his diaper was really wet. He kept saying "BAF", "BAF" and I told him we had to go to the store this morning, then we could come home and take a BAF. Finally after playing patty cake, looking at Daddy's fishing magazine and singing a couple songs I knew he wasn't going to pee. I said "come on Jakey let's go eat breakfast." I grabbed his hand but he wouldn't get off the potty. He kept saying "BAF" and then grunting and pushing like he was trying to get some pee-pee out. I realized that yesterday I sat him on the potty before he took a bath and when he kept saying "BAF", "BAF" I told him to go pee-pee and then we would take a bath. I think he really wanted to go potty so he could take a bath :) He is such a funny little guy. Most mornings he'll go at least a little bit on the potty, but we have no real progress yet. If anybody has any suggestions on how to help potty train I'll take em!

So glad you are getting answers!! And that is too funny that Jakob was running around in circles. Thanks again for encouraging me today! I so need to go and see ur doctor sounds like they know what they are doing!!!
I'm glad they seem to have a plan. I'm hoping the meds help...
Pretty funny about Jakey at the dr office. You are brave. I would not attempt to bring Ruthie with me. I think it would be a disaster!
I can't believe he's interested in the potty!! That's so exciting. You're going to have to give me tips!!
xoxo
Jeremy kept apologizing to the doctor about Jakob and the doc said "don't worry about it, it adds a little excitement to the day" he was a cool guy :) I told Jeremy we needed to put Jakey in his stroller, but he thought he would be fine being held...daddy still has to learn the hard way
