Sometimes you've gotta get creative...

Yesterday Jakob was playing outside and it was h-o-t. I think our high was up over 90 degrees. He brought me his bucket that he uses to help his dad wash the car and I filled it with water for him. (As far as I'm concerned summer and yes, even spring in South Florida can only be endured with water nearby. I'm looking for the right swimming pool that will fit Jakob and me this summer :) He had fun putting rocks in the water -and then sand- and playing with the mud. After a while he dumped the water out and I gave him some new, clean water to play with. I guess when he got bored with playing in the water he figured out that dumping it out was fun too. I filled his bucket and he turned around and dumped it right out. I explained to him that the water was for playing, we don't want to waste it, if he's just going to dump it out then we're done with the water. I filled his bucket again and handed it to him and he dumped it out. "o.k." I told him "we're done with water for today" He looked like he was about to protest then he eyed my drink I was holding in my hand. Jakob is very expressive with his face and we can pretty much always figure out what he's thinking just by his expressions. "You want a drink?" I asked him. He shook his head yes and I gave him a sip of my water. He then went to his bucket and spit the water into it and came back for more. It was pretty hilarious to watch. I guess he thought he'd fill the bucket with sips of water from my glass. As you all know Jakob still doesn't say much, but sometimes I'd love to see what his mind is thinking. I'm pretty sure there's some interesting stuff bouncing around in there :)
