Schedule...
Lately I've been feeling like I need to be more organized. I need to fit some important things into my life every day. I need to schedule time to exercise (I know, I stop and go with exercising that's why I need to make time for it !!!). I would like to wake up earlier than Jakob and walk on my treadmill, drink some coffee and just have a little time to read or do whatever it is I put off because I feel guilty doing it while Jakob is awake. I feel like I should probably have some scheduled time with Jakob where we work on letters and colors and all that stuff little people should learn. We read books and point out animals and colors and numbers and letters, but I kinda feel like I should make some time specifically for that. I feel like I'm not as productive as I could be, or maybe as I'd like to be....hmmm. I'll have to ponder this and get back to y'all. If anybody has any tips or suggestions with how scheduling has worked or not worked in your house let me know :)

Well, you might know this but I definately believe in having a schedule. I don't think you should be a stick in the mud by being over strict about it but it definetly helps for everyday life. You feel like you accomplish more because you made the time to do it and your more likely to stick to it if it is scheduled than if you just try to work it in. Anyways, thats some of my thoughts. Love Ya!
It's almost like I wrote that blog!I have always wanted to be a fly on the wall in other moms homes to see how they schedule things. But I have found that schedules dont work for me,Some things stay the same bedtime between 8-9.some things are on my "must do everyday" but at no certain time.Pick up the house before bed so I dont start the new day with yesterdays mess, and it is stupid but on my to do list everyday is NTFD,NTFH etc (nice thing for david, nice thing for hannah) so that everyday I am taking time to do something special for each member of my family. And last i keep a "on my mind"list where I write everything that needs to be done on a crumpled piece of paper so then I can do things as I have time and not worry about forgetting to call someone or pay someone. To me as long as your house is a home and your family feels loved nothing else matters. You will have the rest of your life to get things done so just relax with you family.Also.if you look at all the studys out "they" say that kids should not have structured learning time. They learn best through playing, reading books, and having their parents explain things to them as they live normal lives.
i wanted to put this in the last comment but I was needed...
another list I have that I stole from an organizer book many years ago that helps me a lot.Is my "focus of the day" list,it is more of a mental list. You have something to do everyday of the week at no certain time just when you can get to it.my list looks like this. sunday: all laundry, mon: dust declutter windows in livngrooms, tues bathroom toilets, floors etc, wed: kitchen declutter windows etc and laundry thurs bedrooms wash sheets dust declutter organize etc, fri: clip kids nails paint toenails clean out diaper bag and purse sat:van.I just do things as I have time dust while the kids watch a movie in the living room, bathrroms while the kids are bathing. The lady in the book said that no matter what do the thing on the day if a friend calls and asks you to lunch, say no unitl you are done with your chore lol.I dont do that,If I dont get to it that day i know that I have double the work to do the next day.I keeps me on top of stuff and it takes less than 30 minutes usually, not counting laundry.following this list and picking up before bed keeps the house a home, but not perfectly clean:/
I hear ya! I want to be scheduled but I am not exactly a schedule kinda person!! So it is hard and I need to work on that! When you figure it out please do share!! I always say I wanna get up before Noah gets up but sleep always wins out!!! I think I lack the motivation/drive gene!! :(
Jen-
I think the "focus of the day" thing is what I'm really wanting to have. Not so much at 10:30 I do so and so but just more structure to the day. We do have nap time around 1:30 or 2:00 every day and that's when I get most of my work done. I think if I have a list that I've thought out it will help me accomplish more during that time. It's funny to me what you said about lists because I am definitely a list person!
Of course I'm coming for the wedding silly! :) I'm going to be there for as much as I can.... I may even call in sick to work for a day so that I can hang out with my girls! ;) Miss you guys terribly! We must Skype sometime... I finally have it! Yay! Love to you and your boys!
