Playing on the porch on the first nice sunny day Jakob attempting to feed himself It seems at though since we've moved Jakob needs his mommy so much more. Maybe it's just the phase he's in hitting 6 months and becoming more needy. He will be perfectly fine if I'm out of the room and he's with daddy until he sees me and then he gets fussy and complains till I pick him up or mess with him. It makes doing household chores a little harder because sometimes I must do them with him on my hip. I'm not complaining, but I am pretty exhausted and don't find much energy for blogging right now. We have had a couple of absolutely gorgeous days here in Cartersville. The temp was around 67-70 and there was a slight breeze. Me and Jakob sat on the porch and enjoyed the sunshine. The nice thing about living less than 10 minutes from Jeremy's work is that he can come home and we can load Jakob up and take him to the park and have a few hours of daylight to have fun with our boy. We went to a park on Alatoona (lake) and I wish I would have had my camera with me. The river is flowing right past the park (for mom and whoever else is familiar with Niceville this park is like Rocky Bayou only on a river not a bay) The flowing river is gorgeous and so peaceful. We threw rocks in the river for a while, then we went to the playground and let Jakob slide down the slides and play on the playground. Yes, we still have to hold onto him on the slide. My heavy little guy goes way to fast to let him slide on his own. :) Yesterday and today have consisted of rain...and lots of it. Yesterday I had to go out and take Jakob to the doctor. The address that was in my brand new 2010-2011 phone book was not the actual address of the clinic, so I drove around for a while yesterday before finding out where I actually had to go. Thankfully they still saw Jake even though we were 30 minutes late for his appointment. Sitting in the waiting room trying to fill out new patient paperwork I felt so overwhelmed. My nerves were already on edge because I had been driving around trying to find this place, then Jakob wants to touch everything. He kept grabbing the pen I was writing with, when I took that away he'd grab the chain holding the pen. Finally I sat him on his bottom on the floor and then he gets onto his stomach and wants to roll around which is a definite no-no in the doctors office! The doctor said Jakob's ears look great. There's no sign of infection, no fluid left on his ears. Today she did have to call me in some niastatin(sp?) because I have been giving him yogurt and keeping desitin on his bottom but today it was so raw and inflamed and he just screamed in pain when I had to change him. It is rainy again today but with Jakob not feeling well I'm o.k. with just staying in and hanging out. Well, I hear my little prince calling me. He's been helping me do laundry today, so now it's time for some folding (or unfolding for Jake:) I hope you're all doing well. Love, -Me

Aaaww! He is so sweet! I just can't to get my hands on that boy next month! I told your dad last night that I'll be glad when I can scroll through all the pics of him and not cry. I love looking at him, but usually end up in tears and then mad at myself. I know where y'all are is where God put you and I AM so glad you're in God's will so that's not it. I just miss being able to touch y'all. I know it's better than it was and will continue to get better, but you know me...
BUT thank you soooo much for the new pics and video it is wonderful! I love you and pray for y'all daily. Love, MOM

I love these updates. Matt's computer went crazy and I lost your blog link on it. I have it back now! And you've really been blogging... :)

Ruthie had to have nyastatin too. She had a yeast infection and it took awhile to heal. They also said to air dry it as often as you can. I put this handy towel around her bottom area and let her sit on the floor in that. They also said to wash her with a washcloth when changing her diaper - instead of wipes. I do that for all except the poopy ones. Then I use wipes first to clean up the mess and then use the washcloth. Also they said to change diapers OFTEN, layer the nystatin, then top off to cover everything with desitin. It took about 7-10 days to clear up. After that, you still need to be careful because their skin gets more sensitive. She's got a small diaper rash now too.

Church shopping is really REALLY hard. I'm praying you find one that a) you like and b) God's at work and c) that you are led to serve at soon.

Oh - if you're super close to Atlanta, you should take a trip one day to the Dekalb Farmer's Market - http://atlanta.about.com/od/shopping/gr/dekalb-farmers-market.htm it's this super amazing place. And it's really cheap. I've bought a lot of spices there that I still use.
